Gladius for a Gladiator

Gladius for a Gladiator will be my very first Unity3D game. I've been experimenting with Unity3D for about 7-8 months by now, and wanted to really make a game.

The models in this game will be produced in Blender, and textured in Photoshop CS5. I'm not doing this alone, there are a few other people helping me with Gladius for a Gladiator.

I started this blog to raise money to invest in the game, hope you will donate!

The Map

I had the concept, now what?

I started examining the roman empire, luckily I knew already a little about it. The fights had to be in the amphitheatre, you needed to buy your armor and weapons in some kind of stores and it all had to be realistic.

It wasn't difficult to find a plan of a amphitheatre:

I knew the latin word for a house, domus. And I found a realistic map of a domus:

I now had to puzzle out how to fit this in a small map with the capability to expand it with other features. I was wondering what a roman village needed to have, and immediately thought of a road. My roman also needed some pillars and a wall, to limit the characters walking area.

Right at the moment I came up with this map:
This was going to be the map of my roman village.
