Gladius for a Gladiator

Gladius for a Gladiator will be my very first Unity3D game. I've been experimenting with Unity3D for about 7-8 months by now, and wanted to really make a game.

The models in this game will be produced in Blender, and textured in Photoshop CS5. I'm not doing this alone, there are a few other people helping me with Gladius for a Gladiator.

I started this blog to raise money to invest in the game, hope you will donate!

Realizing a low poly map

My plan was to first script the base, and later on realize a photorealistic environment, just like Drunken Lizard. But I first needed a low poly test environment. So I made the domi, murus (Latin for wall) and amphitheatre in blender and imported them as .fbx files in unity and saved them as assets, in a low poly folder.

I created a terrain and did some quick mountains with the terrain tools and gave them a texture. I also painted the road, but wile I was doing that I realized I probably needed to model the road as an separate object too. On the road I added some pillars, carefully named everything in the hierarchy and the low poly map was ready.
